Thomas began piano lessons at the age of four, supported by parents who recognized and encouraged his love of music from the very beginning. Throughout middle and high school, he was actively involved in band and orchestra, studying percussion and trombone, while also taking private drum lessons that further expanded his musical foundation.
Thomas went on to study Piano Performance and Composition in Upstate New York, where he continued developing both his technical skills and passion for music. Originally from Buffalo, NY he is happy to be in Texas and does not miss the snow or freezing temps. For more than 10 years, he has taught private piano and drum lessons, working with students of various ages and experience levels. He enjoys helping beginners build confidence while also encouraging more experienced students to continue growing musically.
Thomas believes that every student learns differently, so he tailors each lesson to the individual’s goals, personality, and learning style. His lessons combine solid musical fundamentals with creativity, encouragement, and plenty of positive reinforcement. Whether a student dreams of performing on stage, playing in a worship band, joining school music programs, or simply enjoying music as a lifelong hobby, Thomas strives to make every lesson engaging, rewarding, and fun.
Thomas is passionate about helping students develop more than just technical ability. Through music education, students learn discipline, patience, problem-solving, creativity, self-expression, memory skills, listening, and hand-eye coordination, qualities that benefit them well beyond the music room. Thomas believes that when students enjoy the learning process, they practice more consistently, gain confidence more quickly, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.
As a lifelong musician, Thomas has explored a wide variety of musical styles, including classical, jazz, blues, rock, Latin, Celtic, Indian, and Middle Eastern music. His diverse musical background allows him to connect with students who have many different interests and inspires them to explore new styles as they grow.
Today, Thomas remains an active performer throughout the local music community. He performs with tribute bands, plays solo piano for weddings and special events, serves as a fill-in keyboardist for worship services, and regularly performs on piano, drums, and electric bass. He also plays the Celtic bouzouki and continues to study and grow as a musician himself.
Above all, Thomas loves watching students discover the excitement of making music. Whether it’s playing their very first song, mastering a challenging piece, or simply gaining confidence each week, he is committed to helping every student enjoy the journey and build skills that will last a lifetime.
