When I was very young I started playing piano and also loved the drums. My parents were supportive and provided lessons for me in both. Eventually I went to music school.
In my teen years I used my brothers Fender Rhodes, it was awesome. Hours were spent on that playing the Rhodes on everything from Pink Floyd, The Doors and fusion music inspired by groups like Weather Report, Return to Forever and Miles Davis.
Other analog instruments I used in the teen years included an old Rheem organ and a Moog. I’m glad I learned on analog, to appreciate the incredible digital instruments we have access to these days, and they are so much lighter than the Fender Rhodes Suitcase model.
Here is an old photo of me from my High School rock band days.
